Re: Announcing the Launch of To Kalon Vineyard Company

The website is up and running. It’s not taking orders but you can create an account, and it lists a 3 pack at $600. The wine is 80% Cab., 10% Zin., and 10% Pinot, I can’t remember seeing that combination before. Just to be clear, the legal side of this is that Constellation now owns "To Kalon" whic...

And it's the same with every article they write. In the same issue, they write about Spain. Re: Wine Spectator Cover Story on California Pinot has no mention of Rhys

Well, my thought is that Rhys is a pretty big deal for California pinot. And if you make a list of 251 producers from California and Rhys isn't on the list, that is a really glaring omission. But I see that Arcadian isn't on the list either, and likely others. It seems odd to make a story about Cali...

Wine Spectator Cover Story on California Pinot has no mention of Rhys

I just finished reading the October Wine Spectator, which has a cover story of California pinot noir. I thought it was odd that Rhys wasn't mentioned anywhere in the article, but whatever, there's a lot of California pinot wineries to talk about. But then, they have a listing "Alphabetical Guide to ...

Bottles with slight brett coming out of the winery can become quite bretty with even minimal heat exposure, so I do expect there is variation due to shipping. But, really, Pegau is a wine in which some brett is, for most of its fans, a feature and not a bug. I drink Pegau regularly both bought dire...

I have seen Pegau discounted more often than the other CDP blue chips. But this seems more unusual that it's being offered for $50 from many retailers for an extended time. Maybe they're discounting it due to every 4th bottle being marred by brett, which is why I never buy it at higher prices.
