Larry...Names like Insignia, Monte Bello and Mondavi Reserve come to mind. Though at a lower price point, they are widely available at retail.

Very disappointed that Shafer has risen to this price point. Obviously they think the market can bear, though they make a ton of it!

Brian...Check out Wannado Nashville and Nashville Scene for events, music, etc. If you are staying downtown, the Country Music Hall of Fame, Ryman and Frist Museum are all good options and within walking distance.

And restaurants galore...make reservations!

Were you guys at downtown Martin's? Definitely a hot spot for tourists...new location on Elliston is solid. Peg Leg another great spot for BBQ. Yes, downtown Martins next to a couple hotels. We also just returned from GC. Have used K&L three times and overall would rate high on service and results, though the most recent time (within the last month) a couple bottles went for lower than their anticipated range.

Any experiences with Benchmark? I am talking to them currently based on their partnership with CT.

Any tips on how to open the wood cases? I removed from the box and figured there were screws, but see the tops are nailed in. I slipped a flathead in the crease to pry open, but the wood is so soft that it's making a major indention. Surely there has to be a better way. Perhaps try to get a grip on ...

Did a search of "induction" and found this thread, though unsure if any of the recs are induction or not.

My order of four bottles was canceled due to not shipping to my state...I replied tonight and offered an alternate state. Will see where it goes, but BS if you ask me to blanket cancel an order without first contacting the customer.

Looks good Alan. For my taste, it's all about the right balance of brown sugar, cinnamon and a firm, but not crunchy, crust.

My diet has prevented me from indulging in over a year, but Publix bakery sells an apple pie for like $4 that is a huge QPR.

Brian...Nashville is generally weak on wine shops...and your route limits it further. Woodland is a good option, though if you are looking for a wider selection of daily drinkers you can also hit Frugal McDoogal...they may even have inventory online, plus you can occasionally find a gem there.

I signed up back when I was trying a lot different producers and have developed a loyalty to a few that I've stuck with for 10+ years...do I really want to start fresh with a producer where I will need to buy an increasing amount year after year to get access to the better bottles? For me the answer...
