It's the ONLY magazine I still read. Said goodbye to Time, Sports Illustrated, etc. years ago. The scorn for this magazine is puzzling? Not sure why a wine lover would not enjoy pieces on winemakers and wine regions throughout the world? Sometimes Berserkers seem too "cool" for their own good.

Was in Tuscany in early May. Brunello producer highlights from standpoint of combined tasting/hospitality were:

-Ciacci Piccolomini d'Aragona
-Altesino
-Casanova di Neri

Of course, we were travelling with the owner of a wine shop, so our experience was likely a bit more over the top.

It seems like producers who wish to make lower alcohol styled wines are perfectly able to do it. I don’t see Arcadian’s alcohol levels rising over the years. Histamines are the culprit. [ Have a friend who after years of enjoying wine, was on the verge of quitting due to headaches and generally feeling poorly after drinking wine. She starting taking a Claritin 30 min before imbibing and now she can pound the vino like the rest of us with no ill effects.

I gotta say, I don't understand all this fuss and hoopla on this board over 1-2% ABV in wine. The difference in alcohol content between 13.5% and 14.5% is 7.4% more alcohol. So taking 14.5% wine in 7.4% smaller sips or drinking a glass of wine over 32 minutes instead of 30 minutes will give the sam...
