Sit down tasting at Tablas Creek is great. Also liked Adelaida and Law is very nice for a high end tasting experience. Would stop at Dao just for the views!

Forgive my farming naivete, but.... If lack of water is the main issue, would it not be better to NOT frost protect? -Obviously crop yields would be down as a result, but water saved would then be available to sustain that reduced crop throughout the year -Frost protection results in a larger crop, ...

Phasing out many of the high octane wines. No longer buying Napa Cabs or southern Rhone blends/varieties

Sticking mainly to Pinot; Piedmont Nebbiolo; Sangiovese (esp. BdM); any whites.

If I'm in the mood for a "big" wine, will reach for Bordeaux.

Key is to do a quick purge of the needle before you access the wine. When I do this, the wine holds up indefinitely. If I forget, it seems that small amount of oxygen introduced starts to affect the wine. Just my experience.
