I’ve enjoyed quite a few ‘basic’ spatburgundet over the fancier (pricier) more extracted, heavily Oaked versions.

Here is a current everyday favourite, https://www.postcardteas.com/site/product/baozhong/

Works out about $0.25 a (very large in my case) cup. For an (effectively) organic product grown and roasted by a single individual teamaster in Taiwan.

Discussing PG Tips here is the equivalent of discussing whatever the cheapest, mass produced wine available in the US is.

Mark, check out Postcard teas website. It has a lot of background but it’s unlikely you can buy the same tea in the US. Of course they will deliver (well they do to me...) Worth bearing in mind that you get 3-6 cups from the same leaves, so it may appear expensive but on a ‘per cup’ basis, all but t...

The main benefit I found was if you frequently travel in economy so you get priority check in, boarding and lounge access.

If you are flying business you get all that anyway so what the point really.

I don’t see VCC as being stylistically very similar to Lafleur. Pricing for Lafleur and VCC went into orbit in 05. Both were ‘very reasonable’ before.

Very little Pensee in 18 it seems.

Ranked based on what? Just personal preference for the way they taste? Probably

HB
Lafite
Margaux
Latour
Mouton

You could probably more or less swap the middle three in any order on any given day.

The vines in ‘their part’ were planted in 1993. Also not on their own roots and trained on wires.

(KP sent me the info having seen this discussion). Maybe they made great wines from the 60-100 year old vines that Keller now leases.

Thanks for the tip on old bottles.

The white bottlings are super old vines, not a GG. The Schubertslay is 100+ and is also being bottled as a separate Kab by Keller and will go to auction. Expect $300+ a bottle. In 2017 there was an Wintricher Ohligsberg ‘white label’ Kab, also the Schubertslay Auslese 3*. Old fashioned Mosel Kabi, J...
