Oops. Not so easy. Didn't even order some every day Sonoma drinkers. Yeah, guess it's hard to only spend $1K on Zinfandel each year.

During the 2000 tech boom as the NASDAQ hit 5K I recall an analyst on CNBC cautioning that returns over the next 20 years would be flat. Turned out to be quite accurate.

1988 Caymus Napa and 1991 Caymus Special Selection were epiphany wines for me when I started this journey. Stopped buying with the 1997 as the style changed.

Thx for the quick responses. Went with the La Grola at first but turned out to be the '11. Not knowing my Italian vintages went with the Etna, our first Sicilian wine. Quite tasty thanks.

2009 Hudson Ranch Syrah, Pleine de Chene. Went very well initially with a rib eye, but I have to agree with Chris; the 100% new oak treatment overwhelmed the excellent fruit underneath. I screwed up my spring order and ended up getting 1 1/2 cases of the Syrah Sonoma County. When I mentioned this to Mike on my visit last month he told me I made a great mistake. Will try and wait a couple of years to open one although based on this tasting note that will be tough.

I would skip Sbragia. I'd add Mazzocco for Zin, right near Ridge.

Love the Limerick Lane, Bucklin (one I wish I could have swung when I was there last month), Ridge and Talty choices. I'd also consider Dry Creek Vineyards and Nalle.
