TN: NV Krug Champagne Brut Grande Cuvée Edition 164eme (France, Champagne)

I had a similar experience with the one bottle of 164 I've tried so far...I liked it, but I wouldn't have guessed Krug. It did strike me as exceedingly young though, so I'm setting these aside for a few years with high hopes down the road.

Who is buying 2nd tier recent release Burgundies for $950?

Didn’t Bordeaux go through this about ten years ago? It seems to me those prices have largely come back to earth to a degree. Perhaps the same will happen with Burgundy.

Which RIDGE are you drinking?

Opened a 1999 Monte Bello this weekend - my first experience with an "older" Monte Bello, recognizing it's not that old within the context of how this wine ages. Still, I couldn't believe how youthful it was. Not even the slightest bricking, and the tannins, while present, were extremely fine-grain...

Pure speculation but I'd guess they want to sell the store to generate cash then lease the space back from the buyer. Not uncommon. Maybe there's a tax benefit as well. Given their apparent cash flow issues they may not be able to borrow against it. I wouldn't consider any of this abnormal for a bus...

Well you chose a great song! I'm from Cleveland and badly want the Cavs to win, but as an Arizona alum I'm not exactly rooting against Kerr and Iggy (not to mention Luke Walton and Bruce Fraser). Plus Golden State is just a lot of fun to watch. Hoping for a good, long series. Glad it's finally here!
