Based on a bottle of 06 Don Peppino that I had earlier this year, those wines will age beautifully. I wish I had more! The problem is they are pretty tasty young (yes, very tannic, but so fresh and fruit-forward that it's balanced), so it is hard to keep your hands off of them!

Counterpoint on 2006: I had DRC Ech back in September and it was quite pleasant, if not earth-shattering. Also, I still think 02s aren't ready yet (better 1ers and up, at least).

I attended the first one in NYC. I spent four hours walking around drinking A++ wines. They are Parker A++, but I like those wines. I had many great wines and met many great people. New York City Restaurants

Checked out Simon and the Whale on Friday night and loved it. Space is very cool, in almost a mid-century yacht club kind of vibe. Food was fantastic, nice wine list (we ordered Champagne off the list and BYO'd a red).

Racine's on Monday was even better, food-wise. Every single bite was delicious.

I'm on a Wilson Daniels direct allocation list and get offered a bunch of stuff that I don't want (like Oliver Bernstein). I've always wondered whether, if I started buying everything offered in every mailing, they would bump me up and start offering me DRC. I doubt it, which is why I don't do that.
