I find crushed ice works best in this scenario. It melts more quickly and enhances the hydration properties of the wine.

I think the key is to properly hydrate. I put ice cubes in my wine so I'm getting the desired alcohol but remaining properly hydrated at the same time.

Stayed dry until this past Friday. Went skiing for the holiday weekend in VT and ended up having a few stellar VT IPA's. Plan is to keep it to Thurs-Sat for a while and see how that goes. Ended up down 14lbs.

Not really "cooked," but I made this yesterday because I bought too much feta at Costco. Smoky marinated feta in a BaTampte pickle jar, with charred garlic, lemon peel, chipotle flakes and paprika. From the Ottolenghi MasterClass. Feta.jpg Smart way to use the excess cheese. Looks good.

Ended the month and am now +12 hours into February. Lol. Weighed myself this AM...down 12 lbs. Pretty happy with that. I'm planning to continue to Friday (at least) but we are experiencing a monumental snowstorm right now...14-16" on the ground already and its supposed to snow into tomorrow AM....
