Our rep from one of our largest distributors was nagging us to put a line of wines into our tasting. We agreed to it. Our tasting began and no one came from that distributor to pour for it. WTF? "Where one door closes, another opens"... for another rep or an existing one from a different distributor.

For those looking for that old school style that you don't see very much of anymore, I would recommend Macauley "Old Vine" Zin out of Napa. When I first tasted it, I didn't believe it. Such a blast from the past and in my opinion very well made, can't help but have it in my top favs for Zin.

While we're at it, we should make sure that ALL wine makers have a degree from UC Davis. Wine making and writing is srs biznazz. We must control everything and make sure there is an appropriate level of uniformity.

For a cheap and easy fix I use ice cubes tossed in salt with some lemon juice. Salt will stick to the ice making it coarse and lightly granulated with a soft sort of "sand paper" texture. Update: We are scheduled to do our Grand Opening December 29th. The event is open to the public and will consist of several reps pouring samples of wines that are on our wine menu. Update: we got our license this last Friday, finally!

Modern. New American oak all the way. I don't find them to be very traditional at all, but they make a decent and tasty wine.
