Chateau Latour with the 2000 vintage became too expensive for me as did Shafer Hillside Select when it crossed $250.

You should add some Cremant to the mix as well. There are several very good ones from the Loire and from the Alsace.

Re: Where should we go in Italy?

We really enjoyed Sicily including Messina, Taormina, Campania, and of course Mt. Etna. There are many small villages in the mountains that have some of the best small restaurants you will ever find. And of course, there is wine and spirits.

Albariño even an inexpensive one like Lagar de Cervera Albariño Rías Baixas would be great. Pairs well with grilled fish including spicy preparations.

On the sweet side, if you can find some Banyuls Grand Cru with 10 years or more on them, they are an eye opener. They are my go to wine for pairing with chocolate.

Tannat from Uruguay

They probably even have some at Binny's.
You beat me to it. Was going to recommend bodegas Garzon from uruguay. Both tannat as well as their white wines are quite nice
Me too. If you can find some Bodegas Carrau Amat or Ysern, get it. Very well made wines.

I agree Jay. The marketing is heading that way. There are a lot of articles published about marketing wine to millennials. In the long haul, marketing won't be enough. Millennials will figure out when the message is not borne out by the product.
