The 16 and 17 cab sold for $95 a bottle. The last time I bought the regular CF was the 15 and that was $95. I personally find these wines need more years to open up compared to others.

Re: Constellation v Vineyard House (Over To Kalon Trademark)
Crap! I was hoping the faults from the original trademark filing by Mondavi (and Constellation’s tactics) would have lead to a different ruling. I’ll be reading the court’s ruling over the next day or two. The whole AVA system is based on sense of place and localized conditions - therefore the name ...

When I first started visiting CA wine country in the 90s I was told multiple times that wineries don’t discount on-site or direct sales because they don’t want to upset their major distributors or retailers. Not sure if this is legal or business practice. Others may know better than I.

I would not rank them with the Colgins, but they are pretty good. I purchased from the estate in late 90s to 2010. Only have a few 2010s left and I expect them to last a few more years. Early 2000s may be fading a bit but still respectable. IMHO.

Need for wine foil?
I just opened a Bedrock Syrah tonight. To those who don't know, Bedrock places no foil (or wax, yippee) on top of the bottle.
If Bedrock and other wineries can package their wine without the foil, why don't more do it? Is there really any reason to keep sealing up a bottle with the foil?

I know my budget is stretched, but if online ordering is still possible from the west coast wineries, could we try to promote some virtual purchasing efforts to help the biz? For those wineries more dependent on tasting room purchases, some way to virtually promote? Just saw Merrill’s follow-up. Yeah.
