Similar thoughts. I hope he enjoys his retirement, his endless appearance opportunities, his fine wine collection, and his family and friends. Love him or hate him, he revolutionized the fine wine market, led many of us to many incredible wines (and Monkey 47 gin), and is certainly worthy of the Wi...

Re: BOOZED AND INFUSED -- My Infused XO Brandy aka Homemade "Cuvée de Centenaire" Grand Marnier Project

I have been making my own Grand Marnier/Cointreau for years now. Nothing as complex as what you are doing, Tran. I get a 1.75 Liter jug of Courvoisier and remove about 1 cup of booze. To the bottle, I add as much peel (all pith removed) from Mineola Tangelos and Blood Oranges as will fit and let it ...

Sounds like you got an off bottle or mishandled it. Was it travel shocked? Improperly stored? Did you not have time to decant it? Maybe not paired with the proper foods? What kind of stemware? I don't think KB should mind much - it's not like it's a 'fire sale' price, and anyone who buys it may decide they like it sufficiently to get on the KB mail list (making them a recurring client for KB), so when you think about it, they should actually actively promote placing it in the high-end se...

Lack of track record is a disqualifier, unless the exercise is a complete joke. If you read the OP, you'll notice I also created the opportunity for a modern list for wines that don't quite have the 10+ year track record. Hence, I tried to classify them as Modern Cults Cult and first growth are ver...
