Went to Funkenhausen a few months ago and it was great. There's a Haufbrauhaus in Rosemont by O'hare. Just a tap room but my favorite is Buckledown in Lyons, IL.

Someone I know was looking for a special bottle or two to celebrate his sons impending marriage. A mutual friend had suggested a bottle of Boss Hog. I recommended a couple bottles of Woodford Master Collection for half the price and he was pleased as punch.

One of my best wine experiences ever. I was invited to a lunch by the now late bob Bamsberg (a local sommelier) at Tru. We had several vintages of the HOG with the Mt. Edelstone. Fantastic.

I don't know if I'd put it as "slightly corked". Maybe lean more towards mildly or strongly corked as a better descriptor. But yes it certainly is. It's also important to remember that each person has a unique tolerance to TCA so while you may be drinking the same wine you may be tasting it differen...

At the risk of sounding critical there are some very big wines here. I'd expect this for a steakhouse.
