Re: Ravenswood library offer

I doubt flipping. Older Ravenswood bottles don't sell for a premium. Given the provenance, I could see someone thinking these bottles might command a decent premium. Also, there was an "add full allocation" link at the bottom of the release email -- wonder if anyone opened up their wallet?? Conside...

Yes, I think it sucks for people who've been buying since day 1 and got shut out. Just my subjective opinion, no ill will towards O&F for how they set this up - they're great people and I know they would have wished for everyone to get some wines who wanted them. That really sucks...even worse if any johnny-come-latelies signed up just to purchase and flip.

Any WBers like myself who have been buying O&F consistently since 2016 and got shut out, please PM me - if O&F allows me to break up my purchases, I'll see what I can do for you.

I would only open an Old Vine zin and give it tons of air. Even that is going to be REALLY young. Maybe a Dolinsek if you got one in the bundle. Obviously plenty others here disagree, but to me the single vineyard wines demand 5+ years to start strutting their stuff, and are nowhere near as enjoyab...

Wow Rich, I certainly knew you shared my love for the Bedrock 2012s but didn't know you're in the same camp as me on Evangelho. It's as great of a wine as any Bedrock but just not my cuppa...although that said, I too grabbed one of the "Areio e Vento e Amor" from the last offer. I'm so weak lol.

Last night, 2012 Bedrock Evangelho Heritage. Although I tend to struggle with Evangelho, speaking objectively, the 2012 is in a great spot right now - very accessible, well-balanced and full of flavor. Evangelho fans will love the 2012, which is yet another fantastic Bedrock from a vintage where Mor...

I did a little wine availability searching and am thinking of doing a 2 bottle "experiment" with Sociando-Mallet (thanks Howard) comparing a 2004 with a 2016. You could also go "cheap" and buy 4-5 bottles of Bordeaux from a lesser-prestige estate that's known for aging well (like Lanessan, for one)...

bump No formal notes, but last night I opened up a bottle of 2010 Guillot and it's in a really nice place - aromatically, moving towards tertiary with savory aromas becoming quite prominent yet still showing enough fruit/green to know it's Baudry. Very well-rounded and integrated on the palate, the ...
