36AE7D28-D4CD-4EF1-8A99-A8EB510B0F44.jpegQuick data point. Just had two of these Frigidaire 52 bottle units installed in our new house. They run about $650 each. The shelf fronts are wood, but the shelves are coated metal and “float” to accommodate different bottle sizes including magnums. I love t...

Re: Your Gin?

I've been sticking with Botanist Gin for a while now and enjoy it quite a bit.
Occasionally I'll grab a Bombay Sapphire if I'm feeling up to it.

Re: valuation of collection for sale

Wish I read this post earlier before I went to a local retailer for a direct sale. I got a bit too impatient and jumped the gun on selling. You live and you learn I guess

Re: Goldbelly experiences

I ordered the taste of New Haven 6 pack from Zuppardi's and had mixed feelings about it. On one hand the pizza far exceeded any frozen pizza I ever had but some of the pies were poorly constructed and the middle fell out, which lead to me scraping cheese from the bottom of the oven. Not sure if I'd ...

Selling directly to local wine retailers

Is it common practice to negotiate on direct sale prices with retailers? It's my first time dealing with them in this sort of manner and I want to understand some common practices. Also what sort of price should I be expecting to get? I know they have their margins as well but I can't help but feel ...

Re: Making bacon at home

Does anyone have any tips on where to get cuts of pork belly like this in San Francisco?
I've seen smaller cuts of it packaged at grocers but nothing bigger than a pound. When I ask the butcher they suggest an Asian market but I've never been sure where to go for that.
Appreciate all suggestions.

Re: Best carbonara recipe?

Here a tweak to the recipe with infusion of garlic and gianciale fat - from Mauro Uliassi, a *** chef - recipe is not difficult. But all stands or falls with the quality of the guanciale, eggs and parmesan/pecorino mixture. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E7uVF9Ee69s Wow this looks amazing! I absol...

Re: Mezcal advice?

I've found mezcal to be hit or miss. It could be that I've only ever had them in cocktails which might not be the best representation of their true qualities but I digress.
Still looking for a killer mezcal cocktail in San Francisco so if anyone knows of a spot, I'd love to know.

The board doesn’t encourage people to ‘sell and get out’. We want people to engage and participate. The Commerce Corner board is for active members to use, and is not intended to compete with commercial sales channels. You want to sell and get out? Contact WineBid, K&L, Benchmark, etc. Pay them...

Re: COMMERCE CORNER RULES (Read BEFORE posting, i.e. 25 post minimum, no retail, etc)

Will there ever be a way to circumvent the 25 post minimum? Perhaps through some of the premium membership options? I haven't looked into it at all so maybe they do exist but as someone looking to sell and get out it's a bit frustrating trying to get the the minimum post count.
