We did this on a long layover at CDG - four of us went to Guy Savoy for lunch. 100% worth it to share that experience with my aunt and uncle. Carryons went with us to the restaurant - everything else was checked through to our final destination. No issues.

Frantzen by all means. We had dinner in their old location with seats at the chefs counter. Amazing experience. Haven’t seen their new space but the unique flavors are worth the splurge.

On the “dated” look of granite - is it color or edge?

The fancy edges need to go, but with a simple edge, similar to what you see if quartz/quartzite, can you really tell the difference between similarly colored granite and quartz/quartzite?

Black caesarstone for side counters, and a matching black sink (Franke Onyx Fraganite), and Vicostone marble effect for centre island. Very happy all round. Nothing engineered will hold up like granite. Not even marble. Whatever you do, do not use marble. Our kitchen came with a large slab of marble on the island. Designer provided info from the supplier that said no - it wouldn’t hold up to high heat as much as granite would. Something to do with the non-quartz materials used in engineering process?

White Wine Vinegar

Opened a 2005 Puligny-Montrachet last night and it tastes like a really nice white wine vinegar. Brightness, good acidity, not off in any way except that it tastes like vinegar.

Anyone make vinegar from wine? Any concerns or best practices?

We always hire an agency for passport renewal and visas. They make sure the passport gets back when promised and in time for trips. Worth every $ I pay even though I could do it myself for less.
