Being a millennial. It was my uncle who is a wine fanatic. Once I had bottles from his collection I was hooked. The second way was hearing about other high end wineries from high end wineries I would visit.

i would narrow it down to the ones you can't easily get at retail for the release price or less. For example, it's pretty easy to find Eisele at the release price or lower. Dominus is absolutely fantastic. Insignia is good as well. The Armillary is good but usually only sold to members unless bought on the secondary market.
