Re: Is Corton-Charlemagne as grand a Grand Cru as the others? Please discuss!

Corton Charlemagne from Coche and Leroy are some of Burgundy’s best wines , better than 90 % of any Montrachet . Other great CC producers today ( not every year )are Henri Boillot , Bouchard , Faiveley and PYCM ( I had the 2017 CC yesterday , wonderful wine ) . It is much better potentially than Cha...

We had the 2016 Chevalier yesterday ( with my wine club , we bought a barrel ) . Out of magnum and decanted 5 hours before serving . Initially tight and in some kind of metallic grip . But after 5 to 10 minutes in the glass , the wine turned around and became a lovely medium bodied silky wine with a...

Kevin , at a memorable blind tasting of 20 Bordeaux's versus 20 California cabs in Bordeaux , you told me it was easy to tell the difference because the Bordeaux wines have an eucalyptus taste the Californians don't have . I am not surprised abour Roulot 2005 : I now assume more than 50 % of white Burgs 05's are advanced or oxidized .
Regarding a Condrieu from 2006 : that is not oxydation but aging . A Condrieu seldom improves after 2 or 3 years and starts its way to decline after 5 years , imho .
