Re: Futo 5500 release pricing

Yes I had Shafer HHS before but a older vintage, a '95. I gave it a 95pt score when i drank it few years back.

IMO, they both are good representation of SLD with Futo a more modern styled wine, riper fruit etc...

To me, Futo 5500 is in a higher league than Shafer HSS. A future cult wine for sure.

Re: Futo 5500 release pricing

2014. Deep purple hue. Aromas of rich dark currants, gushing blackberry and a sage undertones. The wine is not augular with well balanced acidity. Texture was like drinking silk. The finish was long, very long, with traces of mineral representing SLD. Decanted for 2 hours and it is still dense with ...

Roam Wine - Sleeping Lady Cabernet Sauvignon

Has anyone tried Roam wine especially their Sleeping Lady cab? I know they are fairly new and seems not to be rated yet.

Curious to know if anyone has feedback? searching here yielded nothing.

Fait-Main absurdly high shipping rates

I am a fan of Fait-Main and want to keep supporting Beniot and the team. They released their 2018 allocation recently and I wanted to purchase 6 bottles @375 for a 3 pack. Total cost for 6 bottles is 750usd but the shipping to Oregon I was quoted 280usd. That comes down to 47usd shipping for a 125 b...

Lazy decanting method.

So I have to head to a friend's house for dinner and i dont want to drink his Charles Shaw or Bota Box.

Can I just pop the wine cork, leave it open for 2-3 hours and recork before heading over? have anyone done this with poor success?

Outside of Burgundy proper, the correct answer is "that teeny tiny little plot of dirt somewhere near Chavignol" where Edmond Vatan had planted a few rows of Pinot Noir.

Re: Wine pricing bubble? Thoughts?

Napa is probably the biggest bubble in the wine world. Exorbitant prices, and a big wine style that has a chance of going out of fashion, eg Barossa Shiraz. Main thing keeping Napa afloat are a very patriotic purchaser base (with a millionaire factory nearby in Silicon Valley), and the key wine cri...

I haven't bought the 5500 in several years (OV/SL is my go to), but I still get the offer emails.

I believe they are in the $350/bottle range with minimum three pack purchase.
May I ask why? OV/SL better value?

Futo 5500 release pricing

I am planning my wine budget for rest of the year and next. Futo 5500 is something high on my list to try. I couldn't find any info on their 5500 release pricing.

Does any Futo guru knows what the recent pricing were for their 5500 release? TIA
