Re: Love Richebourg, but what do I do?

Buy fewer bottles of other wine and buy richebourg. You’re not exactly making a value play talking about arnoux suchots and richebourg was never a cheap wine to begin with. Or go in with friends. If three of you buy bottles and drink them together, you could have the experience at 1/3 the price. Ea...

Thinking OG66 is Clos Du Val SVS Cab. They have vineyards in SLD, Yountville, and Carneros, 2016 spec sheet calls out similar mix (18 has Malbec) and same mix of French and Hungarian Oak
Price for their '16 is at $75

Yes, I've been skeptical of the entire venture, but I'm not hating at all. I'm pointing out that the entire venture is built on trust in multiple places. It's been quite disheartening to see it rapidly increase in price over the past four years from $35ish to $55 - $60 --- an increase that cannot be fully attributed to tariffs. Comtes BdB is not a small prestige wine. It is actually one of the biggest after DP. DP towers over everyone by about a factor of ten, but after that you have a number of folks that tend to sit around 500k bottles per vintage. On average, when both are released, Comtes BdB and Rose come in at aroun...
