Wow. I had not idea. It's probably just a matter of time for me according to that article. I just came back from LA with 5 bottles of wine wrapped tightly in jeans and shirts which is what I usually do when bringing back just a few bottles. Have yet to have a loss or breakage.

I have three offsite locations (one of the downsides of small NYC apartments) and I do my best to keep it as accurate as possible. I think I'm only off by about 10 or so. It's usually the 2nd bottle of the night that doesn't get accounted for.

I picked up a couple bottles from a board member a few months ago, took it to an offline and it was a hit. Didn't take notes but Jan's note brings back the fond memory of tasting it. Glad I have one more left!

I've frozen wine several times and have always felt it the wine was similiar in taste/aromatics to the first night. The wines I end up freezing are usually solid mid-priced wines (i.e. $20-$40 range - variety of styles) as the higher end wines we drink never make it to the next night.
