Willamette Producers to Check Out?

Taking a trip to Willamette over Labor Day weekend and will be there for 2-3 days. I’ve had limited exposure to Willamette Pinots- most of my exposure has been to California. I tend to like a ‘less heavy’ expression of Pinot. More balanced or even somewhat lean. Oregon producers I’ve got experience...

Great thread! The best indicator of whether a wine will age is a proven track record. For me, on a very macro scale, I like my pinot as follows: California 1-10 years Oregon 5 -15 years Burgundy 10 - 25 years Having said that, it's stupid to look at a macro scale. Sure, for me , if I throw a dart at...

First, I like this as a topic. So thanks, Blake. Your subject line is an interesting question that I hope lots of people address on the merits. To me, requiring or expecting everyone to bring backups is a bit much. If it is a new(er) vintage of a wine, the chances of something being wrong with it seem lower, so I wouldn't expect backups. If it is an old and/or rare wine, I typically feel bad for person who opened it, and would feel worse b...
