Re: Styro shippers vs Cardboard

I also prefer fiber for all of the reasons previously stated. I do get the occasional Styrofoam container with the cold packs which I don't mind as an exception to the rule. To date, I've been throwing the Styrofoam containers away but I understand some transfer stations will actually recycle them. ...

Yesterday: 2012 Hall Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley) and 2016 Northstar Columbia Valley Merlot. Both showed well but nothing spectacular. Did a little bit of self blending, 2 parts cab to 1 part merlot. Not bad. :) Today: 2016 Aubert Sonoma Coast Pinot. Very approachable. Medium bodied and texture....

I’m a bit new to scotch but I’ve been enjoying it. Is there a reliable, relatively regular auction site for spirts? Something like a WineBid equivalent? I have the same question and very interested in the answer. I had done some cursory research and ran across this Whisky Advocate article: https://...

If you like to drink your whisky neat, it's hard to beat the Glencairn whisky glass. If you like it on the rocks, especially with one big ice cube, then you might look at some options online. Also, I found this taxonomy from the Whiskey Advocate useful though it might have some advertising bias: htt...

i would narrow it down to the ones you can't easily get at retail for the release price or less. For example, it's pretty easy to find Eisele at the release price or lower. It's pretty much impossible to find Aubert for the release price. +1 on this advice. Worth is a relative term. I think Pride R...

2006 Quilceda Creek Palengat. Dark, extracted, but more approachable than the estate cab. Probably softened by the cab franc and petite verdot. Beautiful finish with notes of vanilla and oak. This winery is the reason I started collecting wine. They never disappoint.
