The last two times I opened a 98 Astralis suggested it was a bordeaux blind. They are not even close to the intense fruit monsters they used to be, but they are beautiful to me.

Sure but one was an 05 and at least two other 1eres from the 90s and in each case I had other bottles that were just fine, so Id call all of them premoxed.

Great weekend. I only wish Id have had more time to hang out. That Bonnes Mares was definitely off. Down the drain it went. Otherwise a pretty decent of scattered wekend of wines and an amazing weekend of friendship.

Wow. I do this in my rinky town in the middle of nowhere Pennsylvania for my daughters theater charity. Every year we get 2500 minimum for dinner for six with wine pairing. Granted the bidders are usually the same ten wealthy families but thats just assinine.

Agreed. Not a fan of 06 dom. 09 cristal comes off young as hell. 04 krug is awesome currently as are 06 cdc and 165. Id go krug then cdc then 165 havent had the rest recently

96 salon is my favorite wine of all time. I like Krug second, cristal a close third then dom. While some dom has been oitstanding to me, some have been less than good, which hasnt happened with toehr super cuvees.

Tran, you are fortunate that you did not get to the 04 Saxum. 04 Saxums were infamous for being spritzy at times. This one was. Loren tried to Mollydooker shake it, but Im not sure that it improved a ton. Bummer, that was my last one.

Yeah. The 06 was significantly better at release. However, theres been a whole bunch of waves of this wine too. More than I ever recall seeing for any champagne. Its made me wonder about batches.
