Re: Odd auction for a 1999 SQN on eBay for $30k
So...the wine being offered is 2000 vintage, not 1999. Was there a 2000 produced? Seems like all of the references here are for the 1999. So it's not an auction and not a 1999.

It's a vintage 2000 for sale, not 1999. For grins and because I have 30k to burn I contacted the seller. The listing photo of the 1999 is a "library image" with a picture of the 2000 that is up for sale is available on request.

I pobega’d a 61 zin straight from the truck this afternoon. Red berries, spice, and a light herbaceous accent on a medium body that trends toward acidity and freshness through the clean finish. 61 zin last night. Similar notes but a little different slant. Ok, I'm in the camp that the 2017 hasn't been published yet. There are just a few north of $60 pinots with a 93 point 2016 and 92 point 2017 and none of the locations or specs match. And it's not that hard to search those parameters so I'm thinking if both were published it would have been too easy.

There were several wineries that I know of, a couple rather prominent come to mind, that bottled and sold some of their 2008 knowing full well of the taint problem. However, they acknowledged the taint, sold them as such, and the wines were sold strictly out of the tasting rooms as I knew it to be.
