Re: Liparita Cellars on WineBid

Have had two of the '99 cab magnums lately. The Reserve was OK, the "regular" cab was terrible. I don't think the bottle was corked, as best as i understand that, but it sure was not good. I have had better luck with other Liparita vintages from winebid.

Re: What Bedrock wine are you drinking tonight?

Bought a few Bedrocks because of all the love on these forums. Opened my first last night - a 2018 cab. Granted, very young - but I was not impressed. I could see through the wine, it didn't have the dark opaque color that I normally associate with a cab. Also low on mouth feel/fullness/tannins. Tas...

Tasting a bottle over several days

I've noticed that many of the tasting notes mention how the wine changes over the course of a couple days. (I often don't have any left when we pop a bottle, but do occasionally!) What is the "best" way to do this? (And I'm talking dry reds, mainly cab) Are you leaving the bottle open or are you put...

If you want an "experience" more than just a tasting, consider: Barrel Blending at Conn Creek . If was pretty neat, and has apparently won "wine tourist event of the year." ...
