As you say it frequently implies someone who works the vineyard as well, I think he sees it as a vigneron is a winemaker as well, but not all winemakers are vignerons.

I have loved everyone of these and went deep on the last release, but I think I just opened my first dog. 1998 Monte Rosso, appears oxidized in color and aroma, going to let it sit in the decanter for a while and pray for a resurrection.

I’m fairly new to Seth’s wines, but tasted through his 2019s with him a few weeks ago and found the real through line to be reduction, which I sometimes mistake for new oak.

Looks like Cailloux vineyard came on line in 1998 as Cobblestone vineyard for 1 vintage. I haven’t read that many great notes on the late 90s bottlings.
