Grüner Sylvaner is the most common Sylvaner. There is also a Blauer Sylvaner. I’ve had excellent wines from both.

Napa cabernet sauvignon sells for about 3 times the price of sauvignon blanc per average ton. The better regarded CS fruit sells for even far greater ratios. It will show in the bottle price regardless of purchased or farmed fruit.

What Gerhard says is a very good guide. I must say however that I've had some Tempier Cabassaou at 10-15 years old, that while clearly still not mature. have been fantastic to drink at that age.

I’m guessing your system wouldn’t work in CT unless you assigned completely different numbers for each appellation; ie, Burgundy appellations assigned 1-33, Rhône 34-56, Bordeaux 57-73, etc. Other than this quirky geographical display requirement CT already handles all of your other fields listed. ... I know you can sort by vineyard and by region, then sub-region, but I suspect the results are then sorted alphabetically, not north-to-south. I would highly doubt there is a mechanical system for sorting geographically, simply because machines do not think that way. That is a cool sort, though....

PS: Besides enjoying the Appelwoi and Riesling, don’t forget to try the ‘national drink’ of Frankfurt, the Mispelchen. I don’t know how came to be as it’s principal ingredients aren’t even German, but it’s ubiquitous in that town.

Saturday night is fish night around these parts. We just plowed through sole meunière, caramelized fennel, broccolini and jasmine brown rice. Oh, and a 2015 Carbonnieux Blanc.
For me Carbonnieux is best young, even though the oak isn’t fully integrated. Tonight’s was spot on.
