It was a great dinner and chance to taste so many vintages. I think I liked the 82 more than most as it was more delicate compared to the other vintages (I think someone called it dirty..which I can see). As with the comments below..as we got to the newer vintages, I really didn't enjoy them as much...

I love Monte Bello, and have never tried the Historic vine, but even with the 10% discount, after shipping and tax, it's still over $190 all in. That's about $15 per bottle higher than last year, so I'm on the fence.

I'll go with the "ask the host" response. I have brought wine to weddings and Bar Mitzvahs, and made sure I asked the host and brought enough for the table. No one complained and most were happy that they got to drink better wine that what was being served.

Thanks for the note as this wine is must buy for me each and every year. For me, this is the best value in the wine world.
