Re: US to impose 25% tariff on European wine, cheese, etc.

Possibly, although also throw the digital tax retaliatory 301 tariffs and the threatened EU counter-tariffs into the mix. But with a self-proclaimed “tariff man” in office it’s not clear to me mutual disarmament will be the result. Just look at the China situation where both sides continue to hurt ...

Re: Cult cab con chilli?

Wouldn't any wine taste odd if it had already been opened, then poured into another bottle, and just recorked? Or would one expect 6 months in a re-corked bottle to not make a meaningful difference in the quality of the wine? I know that you are supposed to recork wines after 25 years, but I would a...

Re: Official Costco Thread

RWC had 2009 Mouton today for $740. Had a few other new 2016s in a new display case, like Lynch Bages. Quite a few 2009 Dom, with a handful of 2008 (at the bottom of the pile, have to look for it).

Seems no one has jumped yet at the handful of large formats they have (6L Giscours etc).

The 2020 WTO decision on Boeing subsidies will potentially force a compromise. Have to see how that WTO decision comes down. Re: US to impose 25% tariff on European wine, cheese, etc.

The US is blocking appointments to the WTO. And it sounds like if they continue to do so, the WTO will be unable to issue rulings past the end of this year. Which would be interesting if they are unable to rule on the Boeing case. Perhaps the Airbus ruling stands, forever? And no ruling on Boeing? S...

Thats happened to me before. They shipped me 6 bottles of the wrong rioja, and fixed it the next day. I felt kind of bad since I now had a free 6 bottles, but I suppose it would have costed them more for me to return those bottles than it was worth.
