John: It works. We make pesto "ice cubes" and freeze them for use during the winter. The only ingredient we leave out is the pine nuts which we add at the time of use.

As far as hotels, we loved the Corinthia. Not in the older section of town but still very convenient and FWIW, very easy to get to and from airport.

Native in Santa Monica is closed as of yesterday. This saddens me. I like Nyesha and her cooking. That space is very inefficient and will likely lead to the demise of whatever restaurant moves into it. I hope she re-emerges somewhere on the westside with whatever she decides to do next. I am also looking into "Gris Gris" on Magazine......seems quite interesting!

At this point, I have Dunn only in large to very large format. So who knows if they will EVER be ready! *slowly nods his head while staring/cringing at the multiple magnums of 2012 Howell Mountain in his cellar* Quite the optimist!
