Re: TN: 1988 Ravenswood Cabernet Sauvignon Gregory Vineyard

Popped one of these last Wednesday. Let the bottle stand up all day, surprisingly not much sediment until the very end of the bottle and we filtered with a mesh metal screen. We had a Weill a Way 2014 Syrah in the decanter for around 4+ hours and drank that first with the cab poured in a Grassl Glas...

I always wait to the last 30 seconds to place a bid. If you bid early someone else bids up your price you want to pay for your item. It gives others less time to come back in and place a higher bid if you bid above their high bid number. I always wonder why so many people bid the price of an item up...

Re: When you say, "This wine is undrinkable..."

There's plenty of wine I have tasted at tastings that I did not buy, but I wouldn't call the wine undrinkable. Undrinkable to me is something I am rail dumping at the sink or spit jar at the winery because its just nasty. Only had a few of these in my short time drinking wine. Corked & cooked wines ...

I find the OWC's to be a pain in the ass. Yes they look nice and if you plan on flipping the wine it makes sense to hold onto the box to help sell the wine. Otherwise to me they serve no purpose. The few that I have will end up as firewood at some point.
