I read the article. I've had Pepe's clam pizza with garlic and it remains one of the best I've had anywhere. Sorry, I don't think mashed potatoes belong on a pizza and they seem to like pies with lots of ingredients-not my way to go.

I attended a wine dinner in London recently featuring 95 Bordeaux. All showed well-no surprise Haut Brion was the winner but no dogs. Changed my opinion of the vintage as spotty. Overall, the wines were aging well with no rush to drink.

Once again, a percolator is the way to go. Filtered water and freshly ground beans. We sprinkle a bit of unsweetened chocolate on the grind as well.

Beautiful tribute and thank you. My mother died 4 years ago tomorrow making our holiday season full of memories. She loved Boxing Day and threw many parties which were always lots of fun. So, I think she made a pact with our maker to wrap thing up on December 26th 2015.

Bought a bottle of Knockando 18 in Barcelona. This used to be a favorite but it doesn't seem to be in the US anymore. I thought 59 euros a good price.

I drank a 2005 La Lagune at some point this year. Developing very well and drank equally well after aeration. No rush to drink. I'll say this could be a top vintage for this estate.

I wouldn't replace a condenser with one that doesn't use available freon. Even if the service tech has a stash of 22, it won't be cheap and it probably won't be available again. I've been down this road before.

They just had the 2014 Anderson Conn Valley Reserve Cab for $59 with free shipping on one bottle. In my neck of the woods that's a good price/shipping combo. For those with experience, if you were heading to Cape May from DC, would you take the ferry? Safeway used to be a reliable source for ripe avocados but I've returned several lately from different stores. I agree that's it's best to ripen them at home but sometimes you gotta have some guac.
