For me, it's not necessarily a question of whether white is better than red, it's more of which is better in a given situation. If I'm having sushi or shellfish, I'm going to want a white. If I'm having poultry, depending on my mood and how it's prepared, I might want a white instead of a lighter re...

I was really into, and still enjoy, scotch and tequila, but generally don't like to feel/taste the alcohol in my wine. That being said, I do tend to prefer higher ABV reds, but more so the ones that manage to hid the alcohol well, despite there being a lot of it.

That's what Robert Parker always maintained, but if you look at the scores, that's simply not right. The very best Muscadet or Dornfelder will never get 100 points. Notwithstanding the stated policy, the scores in practice are pretty much on an absolute scale for all wines. (Sorry, William!) True. ...

Come on -- do NOT smoke these steaks! They should have such a unique flavor due to the extended aging. Why cover that up with smoke? That sounds like mixing a great late disgorged Champagne with orange juice. All I'll do is sous vide then sear on cast iron w/ salt and pepper.
