Re: Should you buy most of your wine from one place?

I don't know if that's possible in most cases. I live in a large city and I still can't find a store that has all of the bottles I'm looking for. I have to use wine-searcher or search online inventories in order to find which shop in town has the bottle I'm looking for. I do however, like to give re...

She will have a tough time selling that bottle, even to an uneducated consumer, and if she does sell it, I don't think she'll get much. I had a bottle of very casually stored (just in a cabinet somewhere) 80s something Dom almost 10 years ago and it was bad, so I don't think you're missing out too m...

I'm only newly serious to Champagne, and I've found that finding a house that makes Champagne (or sparkling wine) in a style I like is much more important than how much the bottle costs, and I'm still looking for bottles that I like enough to spend a lot of money on. I went to a Pol Roger tasting last night and the rep and host said that decanting would make the most sense for demi-sec and even barrel aged Champagnes like Krug, but might be less appropriate for fresher/crisper Champagne styles like you'd see with Pol Roger NV.

Regarding Los Angeles prices -- the one closest to my house is no frills and pretty poor hours, but it's $240/year for 12 cases; the one closest to my work is $216.67/MONTH for 50 - 100 bottles (and prices will rise soon, but I can get grandfathered in if I join now [no thanks]).
