Re: Grassl Glass reviews/evals [merged]

Today, I decided to try the Grassl Glass Mineralité for the first time. While I imagine that most people would use this glass for a white wine, I was really in the mood for a red, so thought why not! Much like many of the previous reviews, I found that the main difference between these and my Riedel...

Try 2015 Chateau Recougne. Delicious at under $25! Angelo, can you tell me more about your experience with this wine? It looks like it's only about $13/bottle around here in NJ. I wish I could be of help, but I got into the business back when you didn't need a credential. I answered a blind ad in the Boston Globe and got hired with zero experience as a stockboy at the Brookline Liquor Mart. People would ask me what I did for a living and I'd say "I'm a clerk at a liquor st...

Re: Planning a trip to Chateau Musar and need some advice

Chris, I visited the winery and it was a wonderful experience. The winery is NOT located in the same place as the vineyards. The winery is in a small town outside of Beirut (around a 30 min drive, I think), while the vineyards are far away in the Bekaa Valley. My wife visits Lebanon regularly and kn...

There's no doubt that the prices of Northern Rhone wines are on the upswing, but I would caution against us thinking that $2K is now the going price for 91 Jamet. Just because someone felt the need to pay that, doesn't yet mean that's the new market price.

Here’s an unusual one - the NV Cab. It’s a combination of the 66 and 69 vintages. It’s the second from left in the attached photo. Nice. I have a similar NV Cab from the 80's. I think it's 85-87 but I can't quite recall. The exact vintages were not on the bottle, only that they were lighter vintage...

Wouldn't recommend it. I bought a fair amount (or at least more than I usually do of any given region in Italy in any given vintage) based on the Wine Spectator hype, and ended up regretting it.
