Re: What de Négoce wine are you drinking tonight?
In light of the recent offer on N40, I dug out and Coravin'ed my last remaining bottle tonight from the original offer. I've had COVID all week, but feeling a bit better, so risked having a half a glass to see if I should buy the 6 pack on offer. I thankfully never lost taste/smell, but my senses a...

Cam. I have a question for you that I’m not sure if you would be willing to answer. Since you have tasted through all of the cabs, which purchase are you most proud of 2 yrs later? And to make it not about marketing, limit yourself to ones that are sold out. Which one do you look back on and say th...

I thought about the vintage aspect of it myself as well and went back and forth. 275 sold out and I ended up getting a 6 pack of 274 today after hearing the nearly universal good reviews so far. Now that the shipping and LTS posts have quieted I wanted to post something that’s been bugging me. 100 has really come together vs. 5 months ago. No notes as we were running to get to Elton John, but like Elton this one gets better with age. 5 months ago I remember a jammy, disjointed wine. This is now drinking much more like what I would expect from a high end Rutherford cab. Good fruit not too...

Opened #146 which was $25 for "VIPs" Feb 2021. I'm not sure if I've had it yet but it's as good as Cam said it would be. Just delicious. I brought a #146 to a blind tasting of California cabs last week. It beat out other wines that were more than three times the price and was easily the W...

Man, I'm really glad that some of you are liking #200, but didn't you find the oak/heat/chocolate/tannin pretty overwhelming? I’d pass on the 100 right now too. I opened one two nights ago and the tannins still need time to resolve. I do think it will be just fine in a few months, but it really isn’t a “drink now” wine by any stretch.

For what it’s worth, I’m not as high on the 240 as others on this thread. I think the structure is there to be a very good wine in a few months, but right now the chalky tannins at the back of the palate are somewhat off putting. They definitely need some time to resolve. I think it will be good, an...

I’d also point out that it’s not just California. I tasted a 2020 Pinot Noir from a producer at the top of Oregon’s Ribbon Ridge appellation; the smoke taint was noticeable and off putting. Fortunately, they allowed me to swap the 2020’s in my allocation for an earlier vintage.
