Whatever you can afford...they are all great! Looking to stay around 2k. What’s the General profile of the wines. I do plan on stalking cellar tracker. Good evening John, Others have covered the profile question, and I would just add some commentary on pricing and choices. DRC has always had a lot ...

Re: Which DRC to try

That’s likely because it’s ech and also ech was much weaker in past years. 07 and rsv are drinking fantastic atm. I’d rather have 07s for current drinking than most vintages besides 99-02. No doubt RSV would show better. But for my first bottle I still might go to a better vintage. I had an 03 RSV ...

Where do you get them. I’m a bit paranoid about Provence of these wines as I know how often they are faked.

Re: 2019 Bordeaux suggestions

If you are sticking to normal 750ml bottles, there is no reason to buy futures instead of waiting to actually taste the wines when they arrive. None of these classed growth wines are actually going to run out of inventory. And unlike Ridge Monte Bello there isn’t any kind of guaranteed discount fro...

Re: 2019 Bordeaux suggestions

I should add that for birth year wines I’d get some first growths and Yquem. I’m partial to Haut Brion. Margaux sounds like a winner per the critics. Lafite has the best name recognition if that matters. Yea it’s my son’s birth year so I’m going to do 2 of each first growth. Then 2 or 3 of Cos, Duc...

Colgin is a stalwart in the Napa cult wine grouping. Almost all of the Napa cult wines have changed some over the years, increasing ABV and depth of fruit.
