Re: Bedrock Wine Co. Winter Release Save The Date

I don't believe there was a 2017 Hudson Syrah bottled last year.

Re: Upright or on its side: A Theory

I assume this theory of upright bottles not adversely affecting a cork or the wine would also hold true for angled display shelves/racks. I've always been concerned about displaying a bottle that requires significant aging because of the lack of moisture on the cork but when I researched this topic ...

Re: 2016 screaming eagle the flight

Vinous Media, Antonio Galloni, rated the 2016 The Flight 98 points (drinking window 2024-2036) and Screaming Eagle 100 points. He tasted it in 10/18 and posted his review on 12/18. Unfortunately, I am unable to copy and paste from my Vinous app to post the review. Hope this helps with your purchasin...

Re: Napa Cab under $100

I also concur with Bevan Ontageny ($95) and they drink well young. Over the past several months, I've drank the 2014, 2015 and 2016 and all are a delicious bourdeaux blend that drink very well with a decant. It is my personal favorite wine under $100. I recently joined the Rivers Marie allocation li...

Re: 2004 krug buy more st 209.99 ?

Thanks for the guidance. I think I'll hedge my bets and buy a few more of the Dom 2008 and Krug 2004 but lean a bit heavier on the Krug since it's a great deal for that bottle and I can probably find the Dom at a decent price point closer to years end. I appreciate everyone's comments!

Re: 2004 krug buy more st 209.99 ?

I bought 1 bottle of the Krug 2004 at the $209 because of the reviews and updates on this thread. I don't have a large champagne collection. Only a few prized bottles for special occasions. This past Friday, I popped a Krug 164 (2008 base wine) with my family to celebrate my son's 1st birthday. It w...

Re: How long were you on the Monte Bello waiting list?

I signed up for the futures in January of 2017. My first vintage was the 2016 Monte Bello, which I received this past spring. Unfortunately, the cutoff point for the 2018 futures was December of 2016. Everyone on the list prior to 2017 were granted their future allocation for 2018. I missed it by 1 ...

Re: TN: 2011 Ridge Monte Bello (USA, California, San Francisco Bay, Santa Cruz Mountains)

Thanks for the review. I am a member of the Monte Bello futures club but didn't receive my 1st shipment until the 2016 vintage this past fall. Over the past few years I have sought out older MBs and have built a nice vertical. However, I didn't have the 2011 in my collection. After reading this post...

Re: Bevan current offering

Below are the reviews from Jeb Dunnuck found on Bevan's website. I purchased a 2017 allocation and have confidence that they will have the Bevan profile and be in line with some of the best from 2017. Now it's up for debate where the 2017 vintage is as a whole for Napa but for a but producer, I trus...

Re: TotalWine BDX Futures LIVE

I'm new to BDX Futures. I usually purchase my Bordeaux's on pre-release (a few months before it hits the store) or shortly after the current release (ie purchased a few 2016s in 5/2019). However, this year I decided to purchase a few futures because my son was born in 2018 and I figured if I was eve...

Re: Wine Refrigerators

I just purchased a Le Cache 3800. I'm awaiting delivery sometime next week (takes 3-4 weeks to get to the East Coast). I have a smaller Eurocave that realistically holds 100 bottles, which I will now be setting up for larger format bottles and Champagne. It has 2 areas where I can store bottles upri...

Re: 2017 Schrader Offer

1st time WB posting but I thought this may help. I received my first offer from Schrader as well. I spoke with Frank at Schrader Cellars in 11/2018 and he informed me that there is a Dec offer and a Jan offer. I followed up with him in Jan and he said that the Jan release was postponed a few weeks a...
