I would have said a red blend made predominantly from Cabernet and Syrah. Fruit profile and pencil shavings leads me toward a CS, but the olive and herbs tells me Syrah.

Had a 2006 Carver Sutro PS from the Palisades Vineyard 2 years ago and it was one of my top 10 all time wines. Don't get a chance to drink or even see much PS from Palisades, but I know it makes some of the best Petite ever.

2015 Tensley Syrah: Inky purple in color and opaque. Aromas of blackberry bramble, blueberry, cured meats and hints of lavender on the nose. Blackberry, blueberry, and pepper on the palate. Nice long finish. Drinking superbly right now, but will age wonderfully for years.

I’m glad it worked out for you in the end. I opened a bottle of 2016 Domaine Brusset Gigondas to taste the vintage hype and it was corked. Day 2 was the same with the wet cardboard/band-aid smell andhardly any flavor in the palate. I’m hoping my 2nd bottle of it in my cellar isnt corked too.
