Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Chenin Blanc, Semmillon or any medium acid white with some fruit sounds about right. Couldn't go wrong with Pinot Noir or an aged Rhone Syrah.

Turley Petite Syrah's will age for 30-40 years. 4 of the 5 they made for 2017 had very high ratings (96-98 pts.) including the Pesenti, Hayne, Rattlesnake and Library Vineyard. Cost would be around $40-$90 bottle.

That vineyard and those that usually make wine from it kicks out very structured, medium bodied spicy wine. Very Rhone(y) type wine. Big fan! It'd not your typical jammy, glycerol, fruit bomb Lodi Zin.

This is fascinating. First Growths are First Growths in Bordeaux because of an 1855 ranking (with an amendment for Mouton). We're ranking these today, right? If we looked at Napa today and said, let's take the past 20-30 years because many have changed hands and many up and comers have since establ...

The Central Valley growers as a whole aren't on the Organic or Biodynamic train yet. Not even close. Occidental, yes. Ripon, no.

Considering the Central Valley comprises the majority of land and gallons of wine made, its to no surprise the organic trend isn't catching on in CA.
