Re: La Paulee: did anybody go to the gala dinner?

As John said Kapon ate the sandwich the whole meal. At first we thought it was a cheese steak, but it may have been pastrami. The jury is still out, but as John would attest to the wines at our table were fantastic except for a few. We seemed to have an incredible amount of mags both white and red. ...

Re: SF Bay Area/Peninsula OL February 18 - Sole

I was going to cancel due to 2 other wine lunches this week (Margaux and Rousseau) but don’t want to be the third guy haha! See you tonight (my wines won’t be great in theme of Alan, but I will bring 2 bad ones that hopefully equal 1 decent).

Re: TN: 2015 Rivers-Marie Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast

When I tried the 15 soon after arriving (2 weeks later) I wasn’t as thrilled as some previous versions. I love them all for the price but some have warranted me wine searching and sending my friends in other states to buy up the remaining bottles for $30ish! Bottle shock possibly but glad to hear it...

Re: Krug vs. Cristal

Depends on what house style you like...For me I am a Krug guy but the 08 Cristal is supposedly bonkers hence all the hype. Have a bunch just haven’t cracked as Cristal and Dom P release wines very early on and most people drink them before they should. You also have to take in account what wines are...

Looks like myself and Leonard are the only for sure confirmed. Betty looks to have said a different date works so not sure where this puts the event. 2-3 people doesn’t really make sense for me due to all the driving involved. Let me know otherwise we can rain check for another time.

George is already cranky, no need to give him something else to talk about for the next 10 peninsula offlines haha! Probably best not to have it a day before but that’s just my 2 cents.

Cheers,
