Re: NYC - Burgundy GC Reds @ Sutton Inn (12/13)

Hi, two updates at my end

I will be bringing 2005 Louis Jadot Chapelle Chambertin.

Also unfortunately my friend had to cancel his Sydney to NY trip and can’t make it any longer. So it will just be me.

Would the view on 11 vs 12 vs 13 vs 14 change if you were looking at Volnay (Lafarge, Angerville etc) specifically?

Burgundy vintage rankings

All Would love to get your thoughts on how would you group last 6 vintages of red Burgundy (2011 to 2016). What are your top two, middle two and bottom two vintages for CdB and CdN. Most publications I have read would generally classify 2015 & 16 as the top two but vary from each other on 2011 to 20...

European wine resource has cogno ravera and the Francesco rinaldi crus at fair prices. Though, I must ask why you are so determined to get wide and deep in 2013 barolo at this point. You're likely to get more favorable release pricing if you wait for 2015. It's not like you're going to be opening t...

While these are available, no single retailer has all of them. So it’s a PITA to order from many places. I might just do 2 orders Morrell Brovia Villero $99 Brovia Ca’mia $85 Elio Gross Gavarini $66 Winemadeeasy.com Vajra Violle $64 Elio Grosso Casa $72 And then order more next year from 2015 vintage.

Thanks David. And that’s why as a hedge I have also decided to store a lot of them in the UK. It felt like it’s much easier to buy, store and sell all under one roof. On top of that the commissions are much lower (10%).
