Overall the Margaux appellation is better in 2019 than in 2016, and Chateau Margaux is also better in 2019. Thanks Jeff. Thanks guys. I did hear from my contact at the domaine and they are willing to do a special late release of 1985. Let’s see what it is priced at. It’s hard to see how it will be priced anything like 1996, which is available for $225/bottle in the UK. And I am in no rush to bring it over.

I have had all of the above mentioned vintages. All those mentioned, the 89 is the weakest. I just had it and it doesn’t compare to the 2000, 96, 90 86,85 or 82. I have for the moment ruled out 2010 and 2016. Now thinking about 1996 vs 2000 and leaning towards 2000. Get the 96, it is a better wine and it shows better today as well. Jeff, thanks for taking the time to chime in. Really appreciate it. And it doesn’t hurt that it’s cheaper by $30/ bottle 😂

1. 2016 - has best reviews on CT at 98+ rating. Only thing that gives me pause is that I have 2018 already 2. 2000 - good age on it, good reviews. Bought Mouton from Millesima. Could have saved money by ordering at wine.com but always good to support a neighborhood wine shop and great staff there that I talk to often.
