2019 Carlisle Vineyard Zin.

On the podcast, Morgan and Chris called this out as one to enjoy off the truck. They were not wrong!

Wide, wide open and very easy/fun to drink now. It’ll go for years but the fruit/acid balance is really nice right now.

Enjoyed a 2019 OVZ and Cali Syrah in recent days. Both back up Morgan’s assertion about single-vineyard juice “trickling down” and giving these a little more structure and oomph compared to prior years.

These are always good but the 2019s are special.

Yup. You can ask them to include previously released bottles in your shipment. I’ve only done it for the entry level “volume” bottles.

Usually the lists that boot you for skipping an offer make that abundantly clear. Cannot imagine Bedrock, with three offers a year, would do that.

A number of the newly legal online sportsbooks in Illinois have been running free-money promotions to attract new customers. Like “bet $5 to $125” type things.

Is it wrong to use these as an additional source of Berserker Day budget? Asking for a friend.

If I only have room to buy half a case, which 6 bottles should I take? It's too hard not to buy all 3 SC offered at the price...so if it was me...those 3, plus a bottle each of the Occidental, Summa, and Summa OV. [cheers.gif] I think this right. The SCs and Summas are the right starting points.

Allocations we’re definitely a bit tighter. Based on the release letter it sounds like they are pacing the releases to manage cashflow given how little 2020 vintage wine they’ll have to sell. In the last couple nights I've had the 18 Bedrock Old Vine and 18 Bucklin Bambino. Both were a cut above previous vintages of the same wine. The Bambino was absolutely fabulous. Just worked my way through the syrah, zin and white blend after reading about them here. All outstanding. The zin greatly benefited from some air and probably would reward a little time sideways. The syrah was really good from the pop of the cork.
