Quality Italian has good food and we get no corkage as friends of a friend of the house but it is incredibly loud. Very hard to converse with a group larger than 4.

How bad is the line at Lucalis though? I heard it went insane ever since its cameo on Ugly Delicious (ugh)... been like that for years. I was there on Saturday at 5:00pm, the next availablity was at 11:30pm. It was never that bad. Bring your own table. Set it up out front. They will serve you.

Going to Jungsik for the first time this weekend (also Olmsted and BAM) and planning to byob (which according to their website is up to $75/bottles not on list, limit 2). Doing the full tasting menu and going to bring a Salon and something else. Sounds like quite a few of you have been there before...

Bank has a new restaurant called Lamali which is described as a modern take on Thai food. I'm sure the wine list will be good and reasonable based on his prior ventures. I will check it out next time I'm there.

I think the strength of Berns has always been their mature Bordeaux and Burgundies. The better Bordeaux lasted longer than the better Burgundies. I would love to see your lifetime spend on 50+ visits. Then again it might be too much of a shock [wow.gif]

I agree with your main point Robert. We spent a lot of time in the warehouse but I was never looking for whites. I don't even recall coming across anything remotely interesting to me although I did find some older Arneis that turned out not to be very good.

We've done a lot of dinners at Riverpark on Tuesdays and there was never a limit but we haven't been in a while. Is Dusan still the beverage director? Speak to him about waiving the limit. And make sure you share with him. He loves to try good wines we bring in.

Were there multiple bottles of each vintage? I see some striking differences between your notes and Alan Meadows' notes on some of the wines. For example, you have 1999 as corked and Alan loved it (rated 95 pts).

Vaucluse is $50 corkage with a limit of 2 bottles. We've worked with Richard, the wine director, in the past for more accommodating terms. Food and service are excellent and it is quiet.

I think I've been to Amali three times and have been disappointed each time.

Agree with both of you. I thought it sucked the one time I was there. I know one wine group is/was going there every month for their wine dinners. I guess low corkage was the attraction. It used to be $10.
