Other than Berns, I haven't found any place solid for wine. When I go to Berns I go for the wine as I find the food mediocre. Let us know how the 01 is. I had the 78 and 91 earlier this week. The 78 was off the charts good and in prime drinking window. 91 was excellent but I think it still might be better with some more years. Certainly no rush to drink.

Quality Italian has good food and we get no corkage as friends of a friend of the house but it is incredibly loud. Very hard to converse with a group larger than 4.

How bad is the line at Lucalis though? I heard it went insane ever since its cameo on Ugly Delicious (ugh)... been like that for years. I was there on Saturday at 5:00pm, the next availablity was at 11:30pm. It was never that bad. Bring your own table. Set it up out front. They will serve you.

Going to Jungsik for the first time this weekend (also Olmsted and BAM) and planning to byob (which according to their website is up to $75/bottles not on list, limit 2). Bank has a new restaurant called Lamali which is described as a modern take on Thai food. I'm sure the wine list will be good and reasonable based on his prior ventures. I will check it out next time I'm there.

I think the strength of Berns has always been their mature Bordeaux and Burgundies. The better Bordeaux lasted longer than the better Burgundies. I would love to see your lifetime spend on 50+ visits. Then again it might be too much of a shock [wow.gif]
