Re: William & Mary - September 22nd!

I have not tasted these wines, but decided to place an order (2/2/2) based on so much positive feedback on this site. I was a first time buyer in 2016, and out of 6 bottles, I am down to 1. Excellent cabernet, that I find great balance, amazing quality of fruit, and just first class Napa cab. Buy w...

Well, I wish I could have ordered more, but this 2018 vintage has been one that I've needed to spread the love around to my favorite producers (Aubert, Becklyn, Bevan, Carter, Myriad, Rivers-Marie, and Quivet), but I'm excited to try the 2018 when it ships! Had a 2012 Quivet Cellars Napa Cab on Saturday with some friends, drinking REALLY well, PnP, and just a nice bottle of Napa Cab. A few weeks ago I had a 2014 Myriad Cellars Beckstoffer Georges III. Every winemaker I have spoken to has said that the 2018 growing season in Northern California was absolutely perfect. An example I have mentioned before is Scott Schultz of Jolie Laide whose wines I adore. When I picked up the Spring release of the 2018's in May of 2019, "Speaking with Scott while ...

Re: Name a wine you consistently rate higher than the critics

Corison is a great producer that I'd rate higher than the usual 90-93 points her wines seem to get, but with that said, Galloni usually likes a restrained more classic Napa cab that she produces. A. Rafanelli comes to mind, but I don't think they submit their wines for review (any more?).

Perhaps also taking into account barrel scores in which a 92-94 (that ends up at 92 or 93), or similar, might be considered 94-95 for email / description purposes because at one point it included a 94?

Am I the only one that thinks Dunnuck gives high praise to everything? He's a good 2-3 points higher than Antonio Galloni it seems (except for the recent Realm The Bard, both 98s), I know not Pinot Noir, but that recent score is fresh in my mind.. Moonracer - 97+

The Tempest - 96

Very interesting the Galloni and Dunnuck were both at 98 for The Bard! I find Dunnuck at least a point or two higher usually--especially with Myriad/Quivet, for example.
