FS: 2016 Downstream at cost

Inaugural offering. 3 x 750 and 1 x 1.5 in a wooden box. Wish I could do it, but I burned out the wine budget already. Want to make sure to take the allocation so I can purchase in the future, but for this vintage, it’s yours if you want it!

Re: Downstream Wines

Ouch. Steep. Would love to take a flyer on it, but no money left in the wine budget. I’ll be a buyer in the future, but for now will be posting my allocation at cost on commerce corner if anyone missed out who wanted.

Re: TN: 2017 Emidio Pepe Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo (Italy, Abruzzi, Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo)

This is one of my favorite wine discoveries of all time. Had the 2017 earlier this year with sushi in Maui (brought to dinner by a generous friend), and was mesmerized. After searching high and low with no luck in the US, I ended up ordering a case from an Italian retailer at the all in cost of 36eu...

Far and away winner was 2001 Masseto at a dinner hosted by a very generous friend in Portchester the other night. Not only the best wine of the year, quite possibly in my top 3 all time.

Secondary suggestion would be Barberian's Steak House. The Bern's of Canada. Food was so-so, but vibe was awesome, and wine service was top-notch.

Had a great experience with the somm at Cafe Boulud at the Four Seasons. Dug up a half bottle of something off the list for me (I was dining alone at the bar), and charged me $50CAD for it. Food was fantastic, as was service. Not nearly as stodgy as it sounds like it would be. Highly recommended.

If you have any of the Elevacion, would love to see how you think it compares. The Elevacion is definitely stemmier and deeper than the Alturas. I've had a few bottles over the last year, and its depth of spice and darker fruit profile really sets it a cut above the Alturas IMHO. Really reflective ...

I too struggle with the SV wines. They always come off as distinctly salty to my palate, and that's not really a quality that I enjoy. The SRH appellation wines, however, I usually enjoy quite a bit. +1 on the 2012 being quite good.

The Kenefick whole cluster Syrah is a real m-f'er. An excellent happy medium between Mike's typical riper style, and a cooler-climate Northern Rhone style.

Bringing this to dinner this evening. Has anyone had it recently? Thinking a slow-ox for a couple of hours before I leave should suffice, but I also know these are built for the long haul and could need a little more time. Any thoughts would be much-appreciated.
