ISO: Emidio Pepe Cerasuolo D'Abruzzo

Tasted this recently on vacation in Maui, and was absolutely knocked out. Haven't been able to find any, and would happily pick up 2-6 bottles if anyone has any they're willing to part with.

Thanks!

Had the '15 OPC a couple of nights ago, and it wasn't massive by any stretch, IMHO. Very balanced and quaffable, actually. I enjoy these wines quite a bit.

I too struggle with the SV wines. They always come off as distinctly salty to my palate, and that's not really a quality that I enjoy. The SRH appellation wines, however, I usually enjoy quite a bit. +1 on the 2012 being quite good.

The Kenefick whole cluster Syrah is a real m-f'er. An excellent happy medium between Mike's typical riper style, and a cooler-climate Northern Rhone style.

Have tasted these from barrel on two separate occasions-they are 100% wonderful, as per usual. All the fruit was already in, and I'm 99% sure the wines were in barrel already at the time of the fires.

Yes. Perspective isn't necessarily everything , but it certainly can bring about more appreciation for things that are truly great. This ended up being a very interesting bottle. I don't have much experience with Heitz Martha's, and was excited to see what all the fuss is about. Slow-ox for 4 hours on the kitchen counter, then into a decanter at the beginning of dinner. Initally, explosive wafts of Halls cherry cough drop on the...

I’m fond of burgundy with red meat. I think it generally does quite well. Acidity is nice for fattier cuts too.

Bringing this to dinner this evening. Has anyone had it recently? Thinking a slow-ox for a couple of hours before I leave should suffice, but I also know these are built for the long haul and could need a little more time. Any thoughts would be much-appreciated.

Billy nice note. Thus far Bearwallow has been my favorite of the Rhys. You bring up a great point about the air time. While I like this style of wines, my wife doesn’t. Which means that when I pop a bottle it’s more impulsive, and I haven’t really let them breath like they probably should. Good rem...
