Re: Your Wine Cellars

Their address listed in wine searcher is just some industrial park, which does not look like a warehouse.

Re: Your Wine Cellars

I have never used them before but this is what I found out about them. I can't say for sure if what I found is 100% accurate. Just trying to help out. 9705 NW 108 AVE Suite #10 Miami Beach, Florida and I found a thread about them https://www.wineberserkers.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=134013 Thank...

Your Wine Cellars

Has anyone used this retailer based out of Ft. Lauderdale that appears to be online only? They are the only retailer that lists a particular bottle that I want, but I've never heard of them, and thanks to their name it is extremely difficult to search for reviews etc... on this board, or the interne...

Re: (Yet Another) Napa Trip Recap

As a forum lurker I always enjoy these posts as I get to learn about new places to visit, so I see no reason to be (almost) apologetic about it... glad to hear that you had a good time and those that are bored with these posts can easily ignore them. Thanks!

Re: Good Classically Styled Barolo/Barbaresco for $250 or less

I emailed Chambers street and they recommended "’90 & the ’82 Fontannafreddas...and 5 days to stand upright and settle should be plenty" any thoughts?

Re: Good Classically Styled Barolo/Barbaresco for $250 or less

your issue may be with the timing of the dinner. if you have to order, aged nebbiolo ideally needs a couple weeks standing after shipping for sediment to settle. If time is not an issue, check out Chambers St Wines. awesome selection of high quality, good provenance italian wine wth age. Would 2 we...

Re: Good Classically Styled Barolo/Barbaresco for $250 or less

I am going to a wine dinner soon and would like to bring a nice aged Barolo or Barbaresco that is classically styled in the $250 range (or less of course). What's your definition of aged? Preferences vary. You can drink 2004 or 2001 with pleasure, or 2007 or 2008, but also 1978 and 1974 and on back...

Good Classically Styled Barolo/Barbaresco for $250 or less

Hello,

I've tried doing some searches but haven't come up with anything. I am going to a wine dinner soon and would like to bring a nice aged Barolo or Barbaresco that is classically styled in the $250 range (or less of course). Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Re: Charter Oak in St. Helena

I went there in February of this year and everything was great, we will probably go back the next time we're in Napa.

Headed to Napa tomorrow for Anniversary weekend...

Well I'm very glad that you didn't see my post as you enjoyed the pairings a lot, sounds like I might have to give them another try the next time I'm out there.

Headed to Napa tomorrow for Anniversary weekend...

I went to Redd about a year ago and thought it was very good. I was advised to avoid the wine pairings but I didn't heed this advice and felt like I wasted my money on the wine pairings as they were very disappointing, the food was great though.

Poor Man's Wines

Welcome, Tim. Hang around, you'll do well participating. The first question I will ask is does the Petrvs drinker want 6 bootles in place of his prized Petrvs? Drinking 'as good' is probably is not his goal. It's still a good question though as to the 'wider' sweep 'can we drink as good for less'. ...

Poor Man's Wines

I was just reading through another post and I was interested in the following quote: "At the highest levels, you can almost always find a wine that is almost as good and costs a fraction. For Petrus you can get a 6 pack of VCC For Latour, also a 6 pack of Pontet Canet" This made me wonder what are s...

Coravin changing the taste of a bottle?

I have been using my Coravin for over a year now, almost exclusively with the vintage needle, and have noticed changes in some bottles, while they haven't gone bad they definitely seem different. For example I had a Meursault that was very vibrant and crisp with the first glass, when revisited a wee...

Springtime in Winter: A Napa Valley Trip Report

It appears as though my wife and I were in Napa at the same time. We went to the Charter Oak for lunch on Valentines day and had the same experience with their desert cart. We also enjoyed the Oakville grocery for lunch. Thanks for the report and pictures and for the explanation of To Kalon, I was w...
