newhere I purchased a case during BDX and we have just gotten around to opening bottles. So far, we have tried the Pinot Noir Blanc (slightly effervescent, white peach/white pluot). My husband asked when I was going to repurchase it [snort.gif] . We also opened the Sauvignon Blanc, which was a litt...

Cracked a sav Blanc this afternoon not best day, dreary, rainy, chilly but damn if drinking this doesn't make me feel like I'm on a warm beach stuffing my face with tropical fruit. Yeah it has been raining quite a bit up here in Oregon as well. Apparently this is due to the "ridiculously resilient ridge", that normally keeps us warm and dry (and the east coast cold), shifting or "flipping". So basically this is what it is like when we get something similar to a polar vortex...

Chris — I read caramel and vanilla in the description and I get scared! Ha, well don't be too scared. It's funny that when you gather around and taste the wines a couple months after bottling to write wine descriptors they end up not being the same as when the wine sits in bottle for a year or two....

Oh, I see. I had interpreted your comment to mean that they were actively harmful to the environment. Don't forget winery contamination. 1989 Ducru-Beaucaillou anyone... And I am no fan of the sugar corks. I have dramatically cut back on purchases from producers who use them, despite the (overstated IMO) "green" claims. I am curious what is not green about the sugarcane based corks and do you have ...
