IMO. Good rule of thumb for Oakville 10-15 years bottles, mags 20+ years.

Thanks for the notes on the 2013 Rabaja. PdB riservas have such great QPR. I've luckily tried an older Rabaja (71') in pristine condition, which was mind-blowing! I hope in my late retirement, the experience will be something similar...or even better [cheers.gif] #ageyourwines

Well that's convincing, thank you. A margin over the perfect 2007 Hillside, wow! Just curious, did you try the Maya or Hillside upon release??Instead of the one bottle of Harlan I was on the fence with, I think next week's shopping spree is now pretty clear: One mag of VHR and three Greer.

Never experienced any fireworks with Astralis. For the scores and price, I was underwhelmed. I'd say Torbreck RunRig is the bar for high level Aussie Shiraz. Tried the Laird a couple times and was mind blown, but the budget doesn't allow for to experience those bottle that often.

Picked up some Old Shop Block, first time ever purchasing it. Have to admit, Galloni's reviews definitely had an effect on my buying this offering. AG 97pt pinots for $65 a pop are rare finds.

If you're into Italian varietals and biodynamic farming, you have to check out DaVero, just 1/2 mile from downtown. A few years ago I really enjoyed the wine tasting seminar at Corner 103 in downtown Sonoma with the owner Lloyd. It was a great introduction to understanding how to pair food to wine effectively. Highly recommended.

My favorite quality is the floral perfume characteristic in aged Bordeaux-styled wines, new and old world. Next, I would say the rose notes in aged Barolo.
